As the Senior Manager, Data Analytics & Business Intelligence, you will be responsible to formulate strategies, build and manage business intelligence (BI) tools to deliver data, reports, information, intelligence, and insight in a way that is easy to digest by internal customers and cultivates the data-driven decision-making culture. As an individual contributor and leader, you will lead a small team of BI developers to deliver BI products that provide actionable information and insight to people and position GXO for long-term growth and profitability.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Develop and execute an effective strategy and roadmap to advance the Finance BI landscape.
  • Collaborate strategically with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and effectively communicate outcomes and trade-offs.
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of offshore resources to design, optimize, and expand the BI platform for Finance (P2P, OTC, FP&A, accounting, etc.)
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and documentation of data flows within the business, aligning and optimizing PowerBI data models to streamline critical business processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and corporate systems' data owners to ensure alignment with data sources, data pipelines, and data hosting and processing technologies, including data lakes.
  • Develop a strategic plan to transition from traditional reporting and descriptive analysis towards advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions.
  • Continuously monitor the performance and usage of BI solutions, proactively address data discrepancies and issues, and provide ongoing education and training to end users.
  • Experiment with and promote the adoption of emerging tools and methodologies to ensure compliance with best-in-class BI practices, supporting GXO's long-term profitability and growth.
  • Lead by example in promoting BI transformation within other functions across the organization.
  • Automate processes, proactively audit data, and enable self-service reporting for users outside of Finance, in areas such as planning, forecasting, and labor efficiency reporting.
  • Define data dictionaries and standardize to ensure scalability and alignment with GXO master data.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in fields of study including Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in building financial and operational reports and BI tools for accounting, billing, and financial planning and analysis
  • Advanced user of tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Power Query, Excel
  • Strong analytical skills (statistical forecasting, regression analysis, etc)
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as well as establish cross-functional work relationship
  • Proven experience in a BI leadership role, preferably in a finance or related settings.

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Project Management and Lean Six Sigma belt certification
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Snowflake or Google Big Query
  • Ability to work with automation tools such as Airflow, Power Automate or RPA
  • Familiar with standard machine learning models (such as forecasting) and programming tools including Python/R
  • MBA or master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
