Lamar's Corporate office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is now hiring a Payables Coordinator! The purpose of the Payables Coordinator is to provide full-cycle payable functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures for vendor and lessor payments. This position will provide administrative and accounting support related to the processing of payable invoices, payments to vendors and lessors, and master data management.

What we're looking for in YOU:

  • Proficient in MS Office and G Suite
  • Highly proficient in data entry and able to analyze and synthesize multiple data sets and file formats to achieve department needs
  • Ability to manage time effectively, and meet deadlines and goals while paying attention to
    detail
  • Understands the importance and displays respect for confidentiality
  • Continuous improvement mindset providing recommendations to enhance systems and processes

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in relevant field preferred
  • 2 - 5 years relevant work experience required or a combination of work experience and education
  • Oracle experience preferred

A day in the life:

  • Assist with the maintenance and audit of the master data in Accounts Payable and Lease Payable systems
  • Responsible for various AP responsibilities including but not limited to: reviewing and processing a high volume of transactional invoices including fixed asset and capital expenditures, verification, auditing discrepancies, and reconciling payable invoices accurately and timely
  • Responsible for various Lessor AP responsibilities including but not limited to: periodic reporting, maintenance of Lessor data, administrative support, and payment runs
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of payment runs in a timely manner
  • Assist in the audit, review, and processing of credit card and employee expense reimbursement payments
  • Assist with the review, audit, and maintenance of recurring invoices to be processed for payment through AP systems on a monthly basis
  • Respond to both internal and external customer inquiries
  • Assists with month end close procedures and AP/Lease SOX controls and maintain any documentation required in accordance with company policy and accounting principles
  • Comply with and enforce departmental policies and procedures
  • Responsible for system administration and testing
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the Accounts Payable Team and Accountin

      Physical Demands and Work Environment:

      • The primary work environment is an office
      • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and walking.
      • Nights spent traveling, away from home, are less than 5%.
