The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes which includes equipment, testing, process improvement and productivity savings. Reporting to theManufacturing Process Engineering Manager,the Manufacturing Engineer will develop, design, validate, and implement production equipment and processes within an ISO Class 7 certified cleanroom. This role will be responsible for the continued implementation of lean throughout the production lines and identifying new opportunities or changes in business needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by analyzing and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Soliciting observations from operators.
  • Modify manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, manufacturing methods and equipment options to reduce scrap and increase productivity.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by implementing methods to validate process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; and estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Able to perform process validations and equipment validations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of two (2) or more years of engineering work experience required.
  • Experience working with sonic, spin, heat, injection molding or any processes requiring multiple process settings preferred.
  • CREO experience preferred or Solid Works.
  • Project management training, certificate preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts preferred.
