Subscription Marketing Manager (Temporary, Full-Time, Hybrid)
Reports to: Interim Director of Marketing and Communications
Compensation: $58,000 - $62,000 annually plus benefits

THE POSITION
The Subscription Marketing Manager works within the Marketing Department and is responsible for acquiring new subscribers, stewarding current subscribers, operating within an established budget, and reporting and analyzing the marketing efforts of all subscription campaigns. This role is also in close contact with the Director of Audience Services and the Season Ticket and Group Sales Manager to ensure the timely, efficient, and accurate execution of all subscription campaigns. This position is temporary, full-time, exempt, benefits eligible and will be anticipated to work a duration of 18 months from the date of hire. Compensation for this position is $58,000 - $62,000 annually plus benefits. The typical schedule for this role will be working primarily daytime hours Monday - Friday but must also have flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend subscriber events or sales initiatives. Eligible for remote work.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Marketing Strategy and Sales
  • Contribute to the growth of ticketing via subscription acquisition and retention.
  • In coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communications develop subscription marketing plans and activities.
  • Generate new subscription sales by directly calling or emailing identified prospects.
  • Coordinate with the Digital Marketing Manager to implement e-marketing and social media campaigns as they relate to subscription sales.
  • Work with the Interim Director of Marketing and Communications to develop, implement and maintain subscription reporting, tracking and analysis.
  • Work with the Interim Director of Marketing and Communication and Creative Services to create and design marketing collateral to support subscription campaigns.
  • Work with the Box Office Manager and Season Ticket and Group Sales Manager to manage inventory holds as they relate to subscription sales.
  • Work with the Box Office Manager and Season Ticket and Group Sales Manager to ensure effective communication regarding subscription packages. If necessary, work with the Interim Director of Marketing and Communications to write scripts and key communication points for the Box Office.
2. Stewardship
  • Develop process for extending strategic and regular invitations to subscribers and prospects to engage them more deeply with the Guthrie.
  • Create and implement on-site subscriber activities for current and prospective subscribers to boost engagement and retention as part of a larger audience development plan.
  • Create and implement appropriate tracking of subscriber engagement activities.
3. Administration
  • Assist in the creation of the theater's performance calendar to ensure subscription series are scheduled in a way that balances the theater's and the patrons' needs.
  • Learn and document the process for and coordination of all set-ups needs for subscription sales including pricing, packages and calendars.
  • Assist in updating and improving database records.
  • Run mail lists, set up source codes, provide analysis support.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Working knowledge of comprehensive marketing for non-profit or performing arts organizations and their various constituent relationships, interactions and transactions required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a box office with a computerized ticketing system required. Tessitura experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills: Can resolve issues efficiently and effectively for internal and external customers, frequently in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Excellent organizational skills and can work in a collaborative environment and prioritize and manage multiple, ongoing projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a flexible mindset and attention to detail.
  • Collaborates effectively to achieve common goals, is a strong team player, and can contribute positive energy, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrates self-initiative and seeks innovative solutions to improve systems, processes, and future planning.
  • Must be available to work daytime hours Monday - Friday but also have flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend subscriber events or sales initiatives.
