About the Job

Temporary position to assist full time permanent grounds crew with campus beautification. The focus of this position is around keeping campus safe and includes manual labor and equipment operating to do so.

Duties:
Grounds maintenance duties include pruning, weeding, watering, planting, trimming, shoveling, raking, trash hauling and other duties as assigned. Some work may take place at our out-buildings such as Old Main, NRRI, the UMD Farm, and the Limnology Lab.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of related experience and training in commercial gardening, ground maintenance, and/or greenhouse work which must include at least six months of related vocational technical training or equivalent education. *At the discretion of the hiring authority, the six months of related vocational technical training may be waived for specific vacancies and comparable relevant work experience may be substituted.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to read and write competently in English and lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height.
