Innovation Office Post-Baccalaureate Intern

MRIGlobal is excited to offer a summer post-bacc internship position within our Innovation Office. This role is designed for a dynamic and forward-thinking student in the field of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, who is passionate about transforming healthcare through technology and innovation.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate across teams to identify challenges within healthcare that can be addressed through engineering and technological innovations.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, workshops, and meetings to ideate, develop, and refine innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering and biomedical principles to assist in the development and prototyping of new medical devices and technologies.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, regulatory affairs, and marketing, to understand the lifecycle of product development from concept to market.
  • Conduct research and analysis on current trends in healthcare technology, and contribute to the development of white papers or reports on potential innovation opportunities.

Success Factors:

  • Ability to think critically and utilize problem-solving skills, which are essential for tackling the complex challenges in healthcare innovation.
  • Demonstrated history of teamwork and the ability to balance a diverse workload which is crucial in the fast-paced and collaborative environment of our Innovation Office.
  • Strong academic record and a foundation in mathematics, physics, engineering, biology, and chemistry.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and contributing to discussions with team members across various departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current student working towards or has achieved a high school diploma, general education degree (GED), bachelor's degree, or graduate degree
  • Coursework or strong interest in biology, chemistry, chemical/biomedical engineering
