POSITION SUMMARY: Electrical supervisor position should include, but not be limited to, developing workable weekly schedules, order materials to complete work orders, track daily completion of work orders, control backlog and assist employees with troubleshooting and design needs of plant equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Direct Electrical Maintenance Program, with:

  • Control of work order execution
  • Development and control of spare parts inventory
  • Documentation of changes
  • Specification and design of new installations

Coaching and Development of Your Electrical Team

  • Set expectations and standards for high levels of performance
  • Actively coach your team to ensure their development and success
  • Provide factual performance feedback and accountability for results.
  • Train and develop a high performing, flexible team that takes pride in accomplishment and excellence.
  • Document all development of team members.

Leadership

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Conduct shift safety meetings
  • Ability to prioritize task and delegate effectively
  • Recognize opportunities and set goals to accomplish what needs to be done.
  • Develop justification, strategies, and tactics to accomplish goals.
  • Effectively lead your team and support inter/intra-departmental efforts to achieve continuous improvement in a journey to excellence.

Team Player

  • Actively supports the success of the greater plant team.
  • Work closely with the plant lab and maintenance departments to schedule tasks and resolve issues.
  • Participates in and support interdepartmental improvement initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • Project lead on local electrical projects and local project lead for a major electrical system rebuild
  • Interface with Production Manager/Supervision to design and implement process and material handling controls and instrumentation.
  • Initiate a program of continuously improving instrumentation, calibration, and controls.
  • Specific training in PLC's and Instrumentation required. ISA certification is helpful.

Perform other duties as assigned

  • Must have strong PLC experience (i.e. G.E. Allen Bradley) and (Wonderware) software and electrical and electronic control systems programming and installation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management of electrical maintenance and capital projects
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical standards and codes
  • Must have strong material handling equipment and layout experience
  • Proficiency with current NEC and NFPA codes is required.
  • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement of workforce skills and manufacturing KPI's.
  • Effective process problem solver using facts and logic to identify likely causes and resolve deviations and issues.
  • Steps forward to take leadership responsibilities to ensure attainment of goals. Does not wait to be directed or selected.
  • Effective written and oral communications with management, peers, and employees.
  • A professional who likes to take initiative and ownership and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be physically capable of performing all required duties
  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Will be working in both an office environment and in a mineral environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Required Experience: Must have at least with at least 5 to 7 years of previous industrial electrical or electronic control system, electrical schematics, control panels and PLC, software, programming for equipment (i.e. mixing, conveying and weighing applications), HMI and MCC experience in mining construction, and/or mining union or non-union environment. Must have experience commissioning of new equipment and systems are preferred. Strong understanding of material handling equipment and automation. Previous experience directing hourly employees and managing subcontractors. Experience with low and medium voltage.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Successfully completed a maintenance apprenticeship program, graduated from a Vo-Tech program is a plus. Associate or BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field. and with at least 5 to 7 years of previous industrial electrical or electronic control system, electrical schematics, control panels and PLC programming for equipment (i.e. mixing, conveying and weighing applications), HMI and MCC experience in a fast pace manufacturing or construction environment. Must have at least 3 to 5 years of previous manager level experience. Must have experience commissioning of new equipment and systems are preferred.
