Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Group Manager for our Cary, NC office. This position will manage environmental staff. The group manager will also provide technical expertise, assistance and project management associated with environmental projects The most frequent and essential work activities include:

    Mentor staff on technical issues, delegate project assignments, coach and motivate.
  • Coordinate training opportunities for staff.
  • Establish, maintain and monitor schedules, budgets and staffing for projects.
  • Maintain effective and successful communication with staff, managers, agency personnel and clients.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on deliverables.
  • Ensure that quality assurance and quality control procedures are being implemented.
  • Maintain high level of customer service with existing client base.
  • Enforce company policies with respect to safety, protocol and procedures.
  • Maintain and expand client relationships.
  • Participate in professional and civic organizations.
  • Market all NV5services to current clients and other potential clients to obtain new contracts.
  • Assist in the development of new marketing material.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, wildlife or other related field
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in environmental services
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to interpret and present field data in technical reports
  • Experience and positive relationships with regulatory agencies
  • Experience with preparing/procuring CWA Section 404/401 Permits and State Buffer Authorizations
  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Trimble GPS, Microstation/GeoPak and Arc-GIS
  • NCDOT experience a plus
  • Experience in managing projects and leading project teams
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment

  • Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
