What is the opportunity?

The account opening and servicing team is looking for a front-end developer to work within RBC's Wealth Management group to modernize technology and streamline the account opening process. In this role you will work with modern front-end technologies to create an enhanced experience for clients and associates for both for web and mobile use. This role will coordinate with back-end systems, third party vendors, data teams and business associates to successfully accomplish timely projects.

What will you do?

  • Partners across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs by recommending technology solutions that meet stakeholder needs.

  • Execute design and implementation activities for a multi-tenant event streaming platform.

  • Supports and executes the quality engineering strategy.

  • Provide thought leadership around functional decomposition of user stories, component design, development methodologies and service reuse.

  • Partners with SaaS platform providers/vendors to collaborate on application development and product roadmap.

  • Participates in the creation/extension of a new application architecture.

  • Leads or participates in the detailed design phases for projects/programs; identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues.

  • Assists or leads in the creation of application design, structure and implementation with consideration for performance, maintainability, and reusability.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Minimum 5 years experiences in IT, Operations or Business Support area, spread across multiple disciplines of development, project management, business/systems analysis, and vendor management.

  • Minimum 5+ years working with modern JavaScript UI frameworks capable of supporting web and mobile use.

  • Experience using RESTful API's.

  • Must display an in-depth knowledge of Java applications development.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills; able to establish, build and maintain relationships with staff and external vendors.

Nice-to-have:

  • 2+ years' integrating with 3rd party applications such as Docupace.

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners (e.g. project, application and management teams, certification, etc.) selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience.
