We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to join Airgas, dedicated to maintaining our technology systems and providing exceptional support to end users within a dynamic Help Desk environment.

  • Provide timely and efficient technical support to end users, addressing a range of PC, hardware, software, and IT infrastructure issues.
  • Ensure the upkeep of IT equipment, hardware, and software to meet security standards and organizational requirements.
  • Collaborate with tier one technicians to deploy software packages, troubleshoot conflicts, and assist with computer operating systems and approved applications.
  • Evaluate and test new technologies, actively contributing to IT projects, and fostering positive relationships with end users.
  • Partner with the IT Security team to implement security projects and adhere to best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments through ongoing personal growth and education.
  • Occasional regional day travel with up to 10% overnight travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, or business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Microsoft operating system environment; familiarity with Google Workspace is advantageous.
  • Proficient personal computer skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives and non-technical customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, both independently and collaboratively, while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge, including proficiency in Windows Operating Systems and Citrix thin client environment support.
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, VoIP, and Internet/Intranet concepts.
  • Sound understanding of Telephony, LAN, and WAN concepts.
  • Excellent documentation skills and the capacity to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project estimation abilities.
  • Willingness to enhance skills through continuous personal development, including attending classes outside regular working hours.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
