Job Description
The Transwest Parts Department Trainee will become involved in multiple functions within the parts department with the objective of delivering superior customer service to all Transwest parts customers.
The Trainee will be responsible for providing warehouse support including pulling, packing, assembling, sorting, shipping, and receiving orders to meet the facility's productivity and quality goals. The Trainee will also fulfill service and customer parts orders in a timely fashion by picking up parts and delivering them to the correct location. The trainee will also train with Transwest Parts Experts to deliver superior customer service on the front and back parts' counters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare orders by:
  • Processing requests and stock orders
  • Pulling materials
  • Packing boxes
  • Placing orders in appropriate areas for receiving or delivering
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Assist with inventory control to continue accurate counts at all times
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by:
  • Keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat
  • Keeping shipping supply area clean
  • Complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Complete reports by entering required information
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs., and/or 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Constantly moving 20 lbs. to move objects.
  • Driving a small pick-up truck or box truck 60% of the time.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a good motor vehicle record.
  • Warehouse and Parts Counter experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the company in professional manner.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.

  • Compensation Range: $16.00 to $20.00
  • Reports To: Parts Manager
