Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Accounting Manager, where you will spearhead all accounting and revenue recognition activities for our Revvity Signals software division. As a pivotal member, you will establish and uphold the accounting principles and practices integral to the division's success. Your expertise will ensure robust internal controls and the meticulous preparation of financial reports, empowering strategic decision-making at every turn.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to planning and budgeting initiatives to drive organizational growth and efficiency. Your keen analytical prowess will be instrumental in dissecting trends and operational outcomes, offering invaluable insights into cost structures, budgetary frameworks, and avenues for enhanced profitability. This opportunity is hybrid, expected to work at our headquarters in Waltham, MA (Tuesday - Thursday).

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Account for revenue under ASC 606. This includes identifying revenue issues both for executed and planned deals, interacting with the sales force and FP&A, understanding contracts and deliverables, maintaining fair value prices for Revvity products, and working in the system to defer revenue properly.

  • Reconcile deferred revenue and unbilled revenue, recognize royalty expense, and monitor accounts receivable balances to determine adequate reserves.

  • Properly recognize contract costs including deferred commissions in accordance with ASC 606 rules.

  • Performing monthly sales journal analysis to identify any problems in revenue recognition. Review Revenue transactions and work with sales team to structure transactions in a manner that is most beneficial for Revvity. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close for three legal entities including two international entities.

  • Provide accounting support for NetSuite ERP system.

  • Establish and execute procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives.

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting structure and all general ledger accounts.

  • Performing relevant deferred revenue reconciliations, unbilled AR, and bad debt reserve analysis.

  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

  • Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements.

  • Work with the Controller and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.

  • Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field AND a minimum of eight years of progressive accounting experience.

  • A minimum of three years managing or supervising teams.

  • Experience in determining revenue recognition - ASC 606.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software revenue recognition: proven experience in software revenue recognition processes. Previous exposure to SaaS revenue models preferred.

  • Agile environment experience: Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile work environment where priorities may shift rapidly, flexibility is essential. Experience working in cross-functional agile teams is highly desirable.

  • Public accounting experience.

  • NetSuite experience a plus.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

  • SalesForce.com experience a plus.

  • Good attitude and strong customer service to support end user's request/consultation regardless of organizational level (primarily within the BU's).
