Overall Summary:

The Systems Engineer I manages and supports daily operations for IWCO's enterprise class infrastructure.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all IT infrastructure systems.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Administration and optimization of hosts and servers; ensure high degree of availability and appropriate resource management.
  • Identify potential system issues; implement solutions proactively.
  • Implement and maintain IWCO's strategies for backup, security, compliance, and redundancy.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of service interruptions; establish preventive measures.
  • Standardize and automate processes using scripting technology.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for supported applications, processes, and training material to internal employees and IT staff.
  • Act as technical escalation point for System Administrators.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows, macOS, or Linux Server.
  • Understanding of VMWare Architecture & Maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of cloud architecture (Azure / O365 / AWS).
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot complex Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
  • Troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong mentoring skills.
  • Collaborative and team oriented.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated; takes initiative.
  • Detail-oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, related degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional IT certifications a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology with demonstrated success.
  • Administrative experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
  • Experience desired in at least three of the following technologies: Cisco ASA Firewall, Cisco Networking Gear, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix ShareFile, Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, CommVault, CrowdStrike (other AV), Dell/EMC SAN, Encryption Management (PKI & Windows CA), Fiber Channel Networking, Zscaler, MDM Solutions (JAMF, Intune, etc.), Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Network Operating System, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SQL, PowerShell scripting, VDI, VoIP Phone Systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work 8 hours consecutively.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background check and drug screen
