Leidos currently has an opening for an Aviation Integration Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OH office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to support AFRL and AFLCMC projects. The objectives of the programs supported are to provide technical and operational analysis of new and evolving sensor systems, assess advanced sensor technologies, provide ground and flight demonstrations and tests, and to explore and perform sensor system integration into laboratories, aircraft, and other vehicles as necessary.

The right candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter and can perform well in a fast-paced environment supporting various technical projects.

This person will be part of a high performing team that plans and manages integration of cutting edge technology, performs ground and flight testing, and assisting with transition into operations.

Primary Responsibilities

This position will directly support SIL/HIL setup, integration and testing of various hardware and software components under test, develop test plans and run cards from defined objectives, and assist in the execution of ground and flight test functions to accomplish those objectives. The selected candidate will work alongside other test engineer personnel and support the overall planning, execution, and reporting process to obtain necessary Government approvals to conduct these tests.

Activities will include:

  • Planning out unclassified and classified radio / datalink environments.

  • Designing, executing, and documenting experiments and flight tests via flight test plans and reports

  • Working with Government security and spectrum management to obtain approvals for operation of test equipment.

  • Network design for field and flight tests.

  • Hands-on integration and Operation of: Radios/Datalinks, Aircraft ground support equipment, in-air networks, Flightworthy sensor equipment, Encryption/decryption security devices, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Aero Preferred) and 2-4 years of experience; 4 additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a test team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Hands-on Mechanical/Electrical experience.

  • Ability to obtain a SECRET level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active SECRET or higher clearance

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Aero Preferred)

  • Any FAA certifications (i.e. Pilot, A&P, ATC).

  • Pilot and/or Aircraft Mechanic Experience (Military and/or FAA)

  • Formal Test & Evaluation Experience

  • RF Engineering Experience (i.e. Link Budget Analysis, RF Signal, GPS, PNT, etc)

  • COMSEC Experience

  • Strong Management communication and relationship skills

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
