Leidos is seeking an experienced Application and Database Specialist to support the infrastructure and remediation contractors at the Portsmouth site (Piketon, Ohio).


Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance. Per the contract, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Your Main Objectives:

  • Provide support for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products hosted in the ITinfrastructure.
  • Provide support for complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access.
  • Work with software vendor to analyze and resolve software installation and on-going support issues of end users.
  • Recommend software solutions to meet end user and IT needs.
  • Support Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team.
  • Consult with internal departments to identify customer needs and satisfy project objectives.
  • Create technical documentation.
  • Support recommendations and plans for software development , operations and purchases.
  • Provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage, and maintenance of software applications.
  • Apply software updates and patches.
  • Perform work according to Software Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Remediate Cyber Security vulnerabilities within necessary timeframes.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate ability to build and foster good relationships.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in computer science is preferred, and at least 4 years' relevant experience. Additional years of experience and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with operations and maintenance of COTS.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including communicating and coordinating with other Government contractors and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

    Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
