We are currently seeking a Design Engineer Lead with the following qualifications:

Professional Attributes

• Meet scheduled hours and dates of all jobs and tasks. Success will be measured by the goal of completing tasks ahead of schedule?
• Communicate directly with customers to understand their needs and create mold designs that meet their requirements
• Design all types and sizes of molds and equipment for internal and external customers
• Provide guidance and support to Production departments on specific molds
• Provide on-going leadership and subject matter expertise to the Engineering team

Specific Responsibilities:?

• Review and analyze project information provided by Program Managers?
• Provide immediate feedback to PM on anything that does not fit scope criteria at any stage of the engineering process?
• Provide DFM (design for manufacture) and?ESI?(Early Supplier Involvement) support for internal and external customers?
• Responsible to deliver a mold design that leads to creation of a mold that is within the scope of the project?
• Ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget of allotted engineer hours
• Ensure tooling guidelines are?accurately adhered to, as dictated by both customers and Westfall
• Utilize software, design libraries & existing designs to reduce lead times for projects?
• Schedule Preliminary / Process plan reviews w/ appropriate people?
• Deliver complete design packages to Manufacturing on-time and accurately?
• Assure that the quality of work is to the satisfaction of the internal customer (Tool Makers, Programming, Milling, Wire EDM cell, Molding) & Westfall Engineering Guidelines?
• Delegate work to open designers as needed within the department to maximize output and reduce lead times. Coordinate with Engineering Manager as needed.?
• First point of contact for ALL engineering related questions on designs you LEAD?
• Create BOM's and perform data entry for the ERP system Epicor
• Create inspection reports and documentation
• Complete appropriate procedures and forms to fulfill ISO 13485 requirements
• Maintain inventory of spare components
• Use strong analytical skills and systems to create and improve Design processes and procedures
• Participate in weekly Design Engineering team meetings
• Perform other duties as requested by Management

Desired Skills and Experience

• Two- or four-year degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience designing injection molds
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and geometry skills required
• Organizational abilities a necessity
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Demonstrate ability to be team-oriented in actions and work
• 3D Solid Modeling experience required
• SolidWorks Experience a plus
• Proficiency in the ability to use Microsoft Suite Software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint or the ability to learn?other software as needed
• Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional results
• Proficiency in the ability to use Pro-E software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint or the ability to learn.
