Job Description
Taft is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our Human Resources Department in Taft's Minneapolis office.

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our Human Resources Department in our Minneapolis office. All Taft employees operate under a "Client First" philosophy-in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for staff performance management, employee relations and other assigned human resources initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, recommends, implements, maintains, and monitors compliance of HR policies and procedures in conjunction with other Human Resource staff and Firm legal counsel.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and ensures Firm compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manages the annual staff performance evaluation process ensuring timely completion and delivery of performance feedback.
  • Provides coaching, guidance and support to operations management relating to staff performance, problem resolution and development of performance improvement plans.
  • Confers regularly with the Director of Human Resources to review and prioritize project status of various HR initiatives.
  • Manages leave of absence administration and ensures compliance with FMLA, ADA and Firm policies and procedures.
  • Manages the organization and retention of all HR records.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues and problems and to recommend and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in order to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills and experience working with human resources systems, preferably ADP.

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of human resources administration at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, business or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in human resources/employee relations. Multi-office experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
