BARR Trainer & Coach
Job Location Other-Remote Office

Responsibilities

The BARR Trainer and Coach role is responsible for the successful delivery of Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) training to groups of educators across the United States. The position has primary responsibility for providing direct services to schools (may require travel depending on locations), including training and coaching supports. The role will serve as an implementation and subject matter expert for the model as they support schools seeking to implement the BARR model with fidelity.

    Implement training, coaching, and consultation services for the BARR model
  • Participate on project teams as required
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in the K-12 education field

  • Demonstrated experience as a training facilitator with extensive knowledge of prevention, recovery, evidence-based treatment of addiction and mental illness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in education, health, human services, counseling or related field
  • Experience in prevention settings and knowledge of the dynamics of substance use disorder and its effect on individuals, families and communities.
  • Experience teaching in an elementary, secondary or post-secondary setting
  • Experience implementing Hazelden Publishing's evidence-based curricula in various settings
  • State-specific prevention specialist licensure
  • History of working on research projects and familiarity with research protocols
  • Experience implementing prevention programming in the context of education systems and community prevention
