Ultra Sonobuoy Systems is seeking to hire a Lead Test Engineer that will mentor and develop a team of Production Test Technicians. In addition, the Engineer will support the test and troubleshooting of production components and products.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

  • Lead group of Production Test Technicians by mentoring and developing the team
  • Manage the schedule, productivity, and efficiency of the Production Test Technicians
  • Develop and maintain metrics for the Production Test team
  • Test and troubleshoot production components and finished products using electrical test stations, ESS testing, and lab equipment along with schematics
  • Use Lean principles to review and improve the Test process along with reducing test cycle times
  • Collect and analyze test data and characterize failures down to the root cause
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Production to champion resolution of root cause failures to improve 1st Time Yield

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens
  • Ability to travel 10%

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills with LabVIEW and LabWindows
  • Experience with manufacturing test measurements
  • Familiar with test lab equipment
  • Familiarity with Agilent and National Instruments test equipment
  • Team player with solid communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower a group of technicians
  • Experience with C, C Sharp, Java and Python is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds as required
