Manager Aircraft Acquisition, Returns, & Retirements overview:

The Manager Aircraft Acquisitions & Returns is responsible effectively planning bridging of aircraft into the Sun Country Maintenance Program and cost effectively returning aircraft as dictated by company objectives.

Essential roles and responsibilities of a Manager Aircraft Acquisition, Returns, & Retirements

  • Thoroughly understand stated aircraft delivery and return conditions to maximize return on investment.
  • Coordinate aircraft survey and delivery activities to include MRO check representation and aircraft inspection.
  • Formulate, organize, and monitor aircraft acquisition/return process to include aircraft modifications required prior to entry in-service, lead time requirements and in-service estimate.
  • Define suitable strategies including expertise/labor requirements to achieve company Objectives.
  • Lead and evaluate Departmental staff as well as third party vendors.
  • Develop and control budget, activities, and deadlines.
  • Assume overall responsibility for final maintenance bridging/accomplishment documents as well as Aircraft setup in TRAX.
  • Assure that Company technical manuals are updated to reflect inducted aircraft.
  • Coordinate any follow-on modifications not accomplished prior to entry in-service.
  • Coordinates technical requirements and documentation for aircraft acquisitions and returns.
  • Prepare progress reports and Gantt Charts as required.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Director Technical Operations Maintenance Planning & MRO.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, Federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.

The qualifications we are looking for in a Manager Aircraft Acquisition, Returns, & Retirements include:

  • Ten years of experience in large transport aircraft
  • Three or more years' experience with aircraft acquisitions and returns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written
  • Must have good Management/people skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and organize effectively
  • Keen attention to details and excellent communication skills
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency, demonstrates initiative and able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Skills

  • Three (3) to five (5) years aviation management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an area with a focus on aviation or aeronautics
  • Multilingual

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.
