As our business expands, we are looking for Senior Application Engineer who will be a trusted technical subject matter expert to our end customers, re-sellers, and system integrators in North America. The successful candidate will become a technical expert in performing measurement feasibility studies, developing measurement algorithms, and understanding general material engineering as it pertains to the specific measurement in question. Ideally the successful candidate will work out of our Atlanta, GA terahertz manufacturing site.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead in-depth pre-sales technical feasibility discussions with end customers, re-sellers, and system integrators.
  • Test, collect data, analyze samples that customers submit for feasibility studies.
  • Develop new algorithms, test methodologies & plans, recipes, and write codes to fulfill application technical requirements.
  • Provide pre and post-sales technical support remotely and in person to customers.
  • Generate detailed sample testing report that includes methodologies, test data, and scientific conclusion.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing team as needed.
  • Perform on-line manufacturing testing at a customer site as part of the feasibility studies.
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%) when necessary to a customer site and tradeshows.
  • Train Resellers, System Integrators, and end customers on operation of terahertz products.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field (Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, etc.)
  • Masters, PhD or equivalent experience with pulsed THz systems or related technology
  • Experience with data analysis software (e.g. Excel, Origin, MiniTab, Matlab etc.)
  • Familiar with data collection in a laboratory environment
  • In-depth understanding of optical systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observes results and makes corrections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Windows IP connections a plus.
  • Must be able to handle equipment and/or product weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Light industrial laboratory and production environment with little exposure to noise, dust, dirt, temperature and the like.
  • Must be capable of lifting equipment up to 50lbs.
