Job Description

Job Summary

This is a permanent position for a Contract Administrator in BioLegend's Business Development department. This position will be responsible for contract creation, negotiation, and drafting of a variety of commercial contracts in a fast-paced, high-demand contracts department.

This position demonstrates the ability to manage and resolve complex contractual problems and work autonomously but within defined corporate and department policies, processes, and guidelines; possesses expert-level contract writing and negotiating skills; excellent problem-solving skills, as well as strong proficiency in conflict resolution, internal and external communications and interpersonal skills; and partners with interested internal business units, executive, and respective business of knowledge for company policy related to specialized contract inclusions, including FCPA, UK Bribery Act, Privacy, and specific corporate policies.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews, negotiates, and drafts contractual documents, predominantly Supply Agreements, Service Agreements, Collaboration Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Statements of Work, and Sales Agreements, etc.
  • Performs duties within established department service level response times, administers new/renewal contracts, and prepares/coordinates documentation for internal stakeholder review
  • Partner closely with the internal business units, including Sales, Finance, Operations, and others in order to gain a complete understanding of the technical and business requirements and to ensure alignment during contract negotiations
  • Provide ongoing guidance to the business and department teams regarding negotiated contractual provisions, rights and obligations, and delivery and payment schedules, and provide the best course of action to ensure contract compliance
  • Develop and maintain excellent partnerships with contracted parties to build efficiencies, successful project execution, contract implementation, and performance
  • Ensures agreements include compliance terms for legal, company, and department requirements
  • Initiates review of existing contracts to identify areas of vulnerability and develops strategy to reduce risk to BioLegend
  • Identifies and documents contractual risks in contractual relationships
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and applies best practice principles and concepts where appropriate
  • Performs required tasks in support of corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • B.S degree
  • 3+ years working as a contract administrator

Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Biology, Genomics, or other biological science
  • 5+ years working in a biotech or like experience

The base salary range for this full-time position is$70,000 - 80,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
