Summary:

The Production Worker is responsible for preparing and packaging product for shipping on multiple different assembly lines.

Measures of Success:

  • Packages product for shipping on multiple different assembly lines.
  • Weighs product, verifies and adjusts product weight or measurements to meet specifications.
  • Observes machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Attaches identification labels to finished packaged items.
  • Inspects and removes defective products and packaging material.
  • Removes finished packaged items from machine.
  • Packs boxes, stacks boxes and/or bags on pallets.
  • Monitors, maintains, and repairs production equipment.
  • Operates machines in a safe and responsible manner ensuring OSHA standards are met.
  • Keeps area clean, safe, and up to code.
  • Contributes to team effort by participating in other production activities as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to sit, stand and /or walk for up to 3 hours at a time in an 8-hour day; ability to frequently grasp, push, pull, bend and climb.

Candidate Attributes:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Meets attendance requirements and is on time.
  • Previous production experience in a manufacturing facility, warehouse, farming, or similar relevant experience preferred.
  • Mechanical ability and an interest in machinery preferred.

Individuals with some of the experience and/or knowledge can be trained on the job to perform each essential duty successfully.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, product irritants, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasionally required to work in high places and confined spaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • First shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am 5:00 pm.
  • Occasional overtime.
  • Starting at $16.75+ for candidates with little to no experience. Final wage offer is ultimately based on skills and experience.
