Description

The Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital, is recruiting for a faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor of Surgery. Qualified candidates should possess certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in reconstructive microsurgery, completed a microsurgery fellowship and demonstrates a track record of clinical excellence in the field of plastics and reconstructive surgery.

The candidate will have been a member of an academic department or division of plastic surgery and a nationally recognized research scholar. The selected candidate will be expected to expand and enhance the already existing excellent clinical program, and participate in and lead the training of residents, fellows, and medical students. The selected candidate will also function as a member of the teaching faculty at Stony Brook University Hospital training residents as well as teaching medical students and rotating surgery residents, and engaging in clinical research.

Responsibilities: The Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery reports to the Chair of Surgery for clinical, administrative, research, and teaching activities of the Division of Plastic Surgery.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D./D.O. Degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Board Certified in Plastic Surgery
  • Eligible for NYS Licensure
  • Eligible for Associate Professor or Professor Academic Rank

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Leadership Experience
  • Recognized expertise in any aspect of Plastic Surgery
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical and academic program building
  • Strong academic track record
  • Record of success in basic or clinical research
