The Manufacturing Technology (MT) Engineer is responsible for plant maintenance support, capital project management, troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and evaluation/analysis work. The (MT) Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and provides a wide variety of design, specification, procurement, installation, life-cycle management, and disposition of plant equipment, facilities, and assets.

Job Requirements

  • Design and/or specify equipment and components that will meet the needs of manufacturing.
  • Provide engineering support to and management of capital projects and expenditures.
  • Administer predictive, preventative, and responsive maintenance engineering support to plant physical assets.
  • Provide technical support to craft resources responding to production work orders and requests.
  • Utilize the SAP Maintenance Management system for managing work requests, equipment repair history, repair cost tracking, instrument calibration scheduling and coordination of capital projects.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate stockroom inventory by monitoring the availability of critical components and equipment.
  • Ensure that all Maintenance activities comply with the plant quality, environmental and safety management systems.
  • Write and/or maintain policies, procedures and plans affecting the maintenance and reliability of equipment utilized in operations. Interpret and execute company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate and submit purchase requisitions for material and labor requirements. Oversee the work of contractors and service providers.
  • Evaluate new or replacement equipment, materials, and technologies in support of manufacturing.
  • Attend business meetings, training, or other developmental activities. Some travel required.
  • Conduct technical training.

Qualifications:

  • Incumbent should have a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited engineering school. Two to five years' experience in a maintenance or manufacturing assignment is desirable.
  • Pursuit of an advanced degree and/or professional engineer's license is encouraged.
  • Strong problem-solving skills uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Is a team player and is cooperative. Encourages collaboration.
  • Can independently set priorities, spends his/her time and the time of others on what's important.
  • Project engineering experience is desirable.
