SPECIAL ED PARAEDUCATORS -
EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM for Center-based programming -


DATES & SUMMER HOURS: June 17 - June 27
1 day for classroom set-up during the week of June 10
June 17 - June 20; Monday thru Thursday, NO SCHOOL on June 19
June 24 - June 27; Monday thru Thursday

3.75 hours per day, plus 1 additional day for classroom set-up during the week of June 10.

Class Hours - 9:00-11:45am

Assignments will be made based on student needs.

SITE: Sorteberg Early Childhood Center

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide assistance to and support ECSE children in center-based classroom programming. May include instructional assistance, personal care (feeding, toileting), lifting, physical assists, behavior management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities. Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions and people functions, but not limited to: toileting, feeding and self-care procedures, implementing behavioral management program; maintaining student data; working with students who may display aggressive, abusive or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior. Must be physically working in the building.

RATE OF PAY: New Hires $18.00/hour. Current Paras accepting employment in their same category shall be paid at their school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule through their summer employment, including seniority and academic credits. Paras accepting employment in a different category shall be paid that category's school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule at the relevant step including seniority and academic credits. Assignments will be made based on students' needs.
