Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure to join our Digital Solutions team.

You will:

    Work in close partnership with a diverse set of cross-functional teams, including Software Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support teams.
  • Architect and design secure and scalable solutions on AWS following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Oversee the successful implementation, integration, and maintenance of highly reliable and scalable SaaS solutions, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality results.
  • Provide AWS technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
  • Design and maintain a modern CI/CD pipeline ensuring a fast and dependable release process.
  • Understand SLAs and contractual requirements related to production SaaS offerings as well as being able to communicate these with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with security teams on compliance and governance including SOC monitoring, security vulnerability management, remediation, incident management, and security reporting.
  • Partner with the Engineering team to manage tier 2/3 customer support requests and coordinate response from infrastructure, software, or security teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Keep up to date with AWS services and industry trends to drive innovation and competitiveness.
  • Manage budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation to meet business objectives.
  • Work with highly experienced electric industry and power systems experts from GridBright and our partners. This requires clear communication and collaborative problem solving between our applications team and our utility consultants.

  • Is curious and enjoys learning new methods and technologies while shipping quality solutions
Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer (or similar role) implementing secure, enterprise-class SaaS solutions using AWS.
  • Strong understanding of AWS core services and best practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with deployment, configuration, and management of commercial SaaS applications within a secure and scalable environment.
  • Can work remotely with a team spread across US time zones while providing technical leadership and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to make tradeoff decisions regarding cost, security, and deployment complexity given a set of application requirements.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, professional ethics, and customer focus.
  • Proficient in English with good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • US citizen or permanent resident currently residing in the US.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Certified with AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
  • Certified with AWS Certified Security - Specialty
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks (e.g. SOC II, NIST, ISO 27000)
  • Experience working in both single-tenant and multi-tenant environments.
  • Experience with container orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Familiarity with PHP/Laravel and Vue.js frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the electric utility industry
