Overview

LMI is seeking an Energy and Sustainability Business Development Specialist to build relationships, drive sales, and accelerate growth across the Infrastructure, Energy, and Environment (IEE) division. This role will assist with developing and executing division strategy aligned to market demands and emerging capabilities. A successful candidate will leverage their extensive network, deep subject expertise, understanding of emerging legislation impacts to Federal clients, and growth-oriented mindset to position for new opportunities and support dynamic pursuits. The Energy and Sustainability Business Development Specialist will develop and implement innovative go-to-market strategies, expand current client accounts, and secure net new work.

Responsibilities

The Energy and Sustainability Business Development Specialist will help clients address their most pressing challenges by:

    Collaborating across LMI leadership to develop, sell, and deliver cutting edge solutions
  • Driving sales and grow current footprint in energy and sustainability sectors within the Federal government
  • Developing and tailoring energy and sustainability marketing collateral to specific client challenges
  • Developing and executing account growth strategies and call plans aligned to LMI's strategic objectives with a focus on energy and sustainability
  • Providing solutioning, capture, and proposal support to market and growth teams
  • Leading client engagement initiatives and campaigns
  • Establishing, managing, and maintaining relationships across current and potential customer bases
  • Collaborating across LMI practice areas to develop and pitch cross-functional solutions in conjunction with energy and sustainability capabilities
  • Supporting development and implementation of division growth strategies
  • Achieving growth targets in line with corporate goals
  • Identifying and screening new opportunities for alignment with growth strategies
  • Coordinating with LMI leadership to identify and collaborate with key technical resources for specific growth opportunities and client sets
  • Representing LMI at conferences, events, and speaking engagements
  • Developing and publishing thought leadership pieces focused on energy and sustainability
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting or federal government service with a focus on energy and/or sustainability
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise and thought leadership
  • 5+ years of demonstrated sales and growth success within the federal contracting space
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field required
  • Ability to develop, nurture and maintain collaborative partnerships.
  • Ability to tailor communication requirements and style to a wide range of situations and requirements.
  • Ability to drive successful potential client engagements by setting clear and specific outcomes, facilitating productive dialogue, and leading an effective follow-up and accountability cadence
  • Technical familiarity with energy and utility analytics, greenhouse gas reporting, sustainability reporting, climate mitigation and adaptation, and green technology assessment.
  • Access to and influence on Federal decision makers

Desired:

  • 10+ years of experience in Federal consulting business development or sales
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and delivering energy and sustainability solutions
  • Masters degree in a relevant field
  • Experience developing and implementing digital transformation strategies or technologies within the energy or sustainability space
  • Expertise in energy and sustainability market trends
  • Significant track record of selling consulting services
