POSITION SUMMARY

As a key member of our Engineering team you will be responsible for providing direct support on the production line to resolve electrical and programming issues discovered during electrical checkout of online buses, especially lead buses.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Create and release programming updates and other engineering solutions as needed.
  • Execute in-plant testing of electrical and programming solutions as required by colleagues
  • Provide general status updates of online builds, identify and address potential roadblocks preventing deliveries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan, communicate and execute problem solving in relation to internal audits.
  • Support supplier application approvals, vendor tests, config audits, and other online activities as needed.
  • Assisting with internal teams to complete configuration audits, vendor tests, application approvals and other online activities as needed on pilot buses.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Support other Engineer Lead Bus Specialist from other plants and ongoing process improvement initiatives.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Post-secondary degree in electrical engineering/technology or equivalent accredited experience preferred.
  • One to two years of equivalent related industry and technology experience, knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and high-voltage systems.
  • Prior experience with electrical systems (ECM's, J1939 protocol, ladder logic) and multimeters.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a highly demanding, fast paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and a self-starter that is motivated to achieve tasks within set timelines.
  • Ability to communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Ladder Logic and electrical troubleshooting is considered an asset.
  • To be able to conduct outside travel for 15% or less of the time.
