Provides integral support to operationalize community and civic engagement with Trinity's campus community and community partners. Helps implement and maintain processes to enable the expansion of the Center for Experiential Learning & Career Services (CELCS) to engage with our community.Candidates MUST submit a resume AND cover letter to be considered. Events: Develops and assists students in planning and promoting alternative break service trips that take place during university breaks including fall, winter, and spring. Supports CELCS in planning, promoting and executing civic engagement and community events such as campus volunteer days, alternative breaks, voting drives, Accessibility Awareness Fair, workshops and panel discussions along a range of experiential learning and career development topics. Primarily responsible for all aspects of event coordination including booking spaces, working with internal and external vendors, serving as project manager, event promotion, tracking attendance, and collecting and analyzing feedback from attendees. Provides day-of event support such as registration and set-up/breakdown, reserving and confirming catering, media services, facilities, and rentals, and welcoming guests. Develops and executes faculty-facing programs as relevant to enhance or grow service-learning and community engagement. Collaborates with marketing team to execute effective campaigns, stories, and updates across CELCS social media platforms.
Programming: Oversees the development, execution, assessment, and partner-student matching for the institution's Community Federal Work-study Program which includes selection of and maintaining relationships with non-profit CFWS partners, student recruitment, student training, coordinating processes with HR and other relevant offices, tracking and approval of student hours, developing opportunities for reflection with participating students in the program and making regular site visits to non-profit partners. Oversees the development, execution, and assessment of civic engagement and Alternative Breaks programs, serving as the supervisor of alternative breaks student staff and serving as the TUVAC staff advisor, which may include oversight and participation in travel within and beyond San Antonio, Texas. Develops and executes new programs in line with CELCS and institutional goals. Provides support for existing community and civic engagement programs, including the Accessibility Awareness Fair, and more. Manages projects, programs, and student staff. Creates relevant training modules for all applicable programs, technologies, and processes. Gives presentations for faculty and staff units on a variety of topics related to community and civic engagement.
Community Engagement: Actively participates in relevant associations and groups to enhance learning, adoption of best practices, etc. (e.g. SAVA, SEE). Recruits and collaborates with community partners for the community federal work-study program and service-learning initiatives, including conducting site visits. Supports efforts to manage relationships with community partners. Works with the Employer Relations team, faculty and staff to develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with community partners, employers, and alumni. Assists the CELCS Employer Relations team in tracking community engagement points. Actively promotes and engages with campus community to further community engagement-related goals and objectives for CELCS. Serves on relevant task forces and groups (e.g. voting, service).
Operations: Provides scheduling and general operational support for service and community-related CELCS initiatives. Maintains databases, application processes, hours tracking and technology related to service, community engagement, experiential learning and the CFWS program. Drafts, updates and disseminates communications to students, faculty, staff and off-campus partners. Oversees the GivePulse system, its users and reporting to include the following: creates customized training modules; meets with individual students, student groups, departments/offices to instruct others on how to use the system; and generates reports (number of volunteers, volunteer hours, etc.). Ensures all service-related opportunities and expenditures fall in accordance with TU policies and procedures. Documents the development, planning, implementation, assessment, analysis and fiscal management of the Center's civic and community engagement programs and services; maintains well-organized electronic records; produces thorough post-program reports. As needed, meets with students for drop-ins and occasional appointments to provide experiential learning and general career-related assistance. Utilizes attention to detail, time management and organizational skills to support all CELCS activities. Serves as a liaison and thought partner to student groups.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
One year of full-time volunteer management, civic engagement, community engagement, non-profit, project management or related experience.
