10:00am - 2:15pm, Monday - Thursday / St. Cloud Public Library
5:15pm-8:15pm Thursdays / Quarryview
Bilingual - Somali



TYPE OF POSITION:
Hourly
Hours may vary based on program needs; days & evenings

REPORTS TO:
ABE Supervisor, Director and Assistant Director of Community Education

SUPERVISION:
None

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Two years post-secondary education or two years relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English language
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Preferred
  • Experience working with adults

POSITION SUMMARY:
Support and assist adult learners, ABE teachers, administrators and other staff in the areas of ESL (English as a Second Language), literacy development, and other academic areas. Duties include student intake and registration, and tracking attendance.


SALARY:
$16.48/hr - $20.93/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Oversee record-keeping process including intakes and attendance
  • Complete tutor training and lead small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher
  • Staying in compliance with federal, state, and program requirements
  • Compile daily attendance and record on spreadsheet for ABE attendance tracking
  • Assist with student record keeping including assessment, attendance, progress, goal setting, and exit reporting
  • Assist in recruitment activities
  • Photocopy materials as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
