Job Description:

Provides oversight and management of technology platforms and data-related initiatives within the Center for
Experiential Learning and Career Success. Provides professional career coaching and advising to students and
alumni in science, technology, engineering, math, and health professions (or assigned career industry areas) and
leadership to staff. Participates in the planning and development of Center for Experiential Learning and Career
Success policies.

  • Utilizes advanced knowledge and specialized academic training to provide career related coaching and advising to students and recent alumni in assigned industry areas. Identifies and markets relevant opportunities to students, faculty, and staff; initiates, develops, and conducts presentations for a variety of audiences; initiates, develops and executes programs specific to assigned industry areas; tracks interactions; actively participates in Center-wide services for students and alumni to include workshops, presentations, appointments, and drop-in hours; reviews and approves resumes uploaded to CMS; establishes and develops relationships within designated academic areas; conducts outreach to new employer partners and actively maintain employer relationships relevant to assigned career industry areas.
  • Oversees the career services management system and all other Center technologies (IT integration, set-up, ongoing administration, process improvement, training, and assessment). Acts as the liaison with vendors and Trinity's IT department for proposals, questions, and improvements. Works with the Administrative Support Supervisor and other relevant staff to ensure efficient and effective operations as they relate to technology and data collection.
  • Oversees the data reporting functions of the Center including: collections, analysis, and visualization of monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports; identifying best reporting practices, identifying additional data opportunities; visualizing data for internal/external constituents, etc. Collaborates with other departments to identify key technology and data needs as they relate to CELCS including: Institutional Research; assisting departmental workgroups in understanding and applying data and technology to improve outcomes.
  • Serves in a leadership capacity to CELCS staff related to data, technology, and assessment to include developing and providing training and mentoring. Supervises technology assistant and other student, graduate, and/or professional staff when assigned. Serves on a CELCS work group to potentially include scheduling and leading meetings. Identifies direction and strategy, delegating, and ensures the execution of strategy and deliverables.
  • Initiates, designs, executes, and oversees formal and informal methods to help students/alumni, employers, staff, and faculty to optimize their use of career services technology resources (e.g. training materials, presentations). Works collaboratively with the marketing team and other staff to initiate and execute effective marketing campaigns related to technological resources.
  • Seeks out and participates in professional development opportunities to strengthen and develop skills and knowledge. Participates in mandatory and voluntary university hosted training and development opportunities.
  • Serves on campus-wide committees as directed by the supervisor. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and other Center leadership (including all associate directors and director)

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

EDUCATION

Required:

  • Bachelors's degree or equivalent in Higher Education, Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or a related field from four-year college or university. Significant industryexperience, depending on relevancy, length, etc., may substitute for a graduate degree in some cases.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • 3 years of related work experience in career services, higher education, or related field
  • Experience with career services management system administration (e.g. Handshake, Simplicity, GradLeaders, Purple Briefcase)
  • Experience with assessment and data visualization

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of related work experience in career advising or in a STEM-related industry/role
  • Experience with recruiting and/or HR
  • Experience in a liberal arts environment
  • Experience overseeing data and assessment for a department or office.
  • Experience with CRM and other technology administration

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • Assessment and data visualization.
  • Knowledge of common career services technology platforms.
  • Ability to give presentations.
  • Ability to coach students

Preferred:

  • Software or database system administration.
  • Project management experience (via Asana, Meister Task, etc.)

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred:

Certified career coach

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).
  • Work includes occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be willing to travel on behalf of Trinity University.
