This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments' access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become an outstanding teacher-scholar through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They are expected to teach using both in-person and alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development and innovation opportunities focused on pedagogical growth.

Job Description
St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential adjunct instructors who qualify to teach in the College of Health and Wellness College - Department of Kinesiology.

The Department of Kinesiology requests applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach various theory of coaching courses as a subject matter related to their discipline. Courses will include hybrid delivery method.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Sports Management, Business Management, or other Kinesiology related field and at least 5 years of coaching experience OR Undergraduate Degree in Recreation and Sports Management, Exercise Science, or other related field and at least 3 years of coaching experience
  • Demonstrative knowledge of rules of the game
  • Experience with coaching sport either at the collegiate, high school, youth, or State High School League, or recognized organization national coaching certification
  • Current certification by either the high school league, USA coaching certification, or appropriate credentials from the coaching league in which they are currently coaching
  • Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching related to coaching clinics or instructional lessons with collegiate, high school, or USA coaching levels.
  • Demonstration of teaching and/or coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Use of technology in teaching, including online classes
  • Use of technology and video software used in sport coaching.
  • CPR/AED, First Aid certification
