PROJECT CHALLENGE INSTRUCTOR

TYPE OF POSITION:
This position will work in the community as assigned

SUPERVISION:
None

REPORTS TO:
Community Education Program Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to work with individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to communicate with family members and community members

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing instruction for classes for individuals with disabilities, promoting safety, inclusion and interaction as they access enrichment activities in the community with their peers.

SALARY: $15.50/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Submit class proposals and Instruct classes with enrichment activities for individuals with disabilities in and around the community
  • Promote safety, inclusion and peer interaction throughout the activity
  • Communicate with program coordinator any needs or problems that may occur
  • Complete and submit required paperwork for each class and/or other required forms
  • Advocate for all participants
  • Provide support, modifications and discipline strategies to assist the participant in participation
  • Interact and communicate with district and department staff, participants, family members group home or agency staff in a positive, professional and cooperative manner
  • Other duties as assigned
