About Marvell

At Marvell, we believe that infrastructure powers progress. That execution is as essential as innovation. That better collaboration builds better technology. Trusted by the world's leading technology companies for 25 years, we move, store, process and secure the world's data with semiconductor solutions designed for our customers' current needs and future ambitions. Through a process of deep collaboration and transparency, we're ultimately changing the way tomorrow's enterprise, cloud, automotive, and carrier architectures transform-for the better.

The data infrastructure that our customers build has never been more critical to our global economy. It's what's keeping the world connected, businesses running, and information flowing. If you're ready to excel, innovate, and truly enjoy your work, apply now for the position detailed below.

The Opportunity

The Broadband Analog (BBA) and Optical IC Unit at Marvell designs and develops cutting edge Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIA), Electro-Optic Modulator Drivers and highly integrated Silicon Photonic IC (Sipho) solutions for optical communication modules. As the leader of a dynamic Test Engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for leading all testing strategy and development for Marvell's TIA, driver and Sipho IC products.

Job Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead test engineering strategy and equipment/vendor selection, manage outsourced test houses and equipment suppliers. The position will require occasional travel to on- and offshore test sites.

  • Provide technical guidance to and manage the daily activities of a team of engineers developing test systems for low-volume bench sampling, high-volume manufacturing, characterization, and reliability - both on-wafer and in packaged IC's.

  • Architect and drive software best practices to enable maximal code re-use in a revision-controlled collaborative environment - both for internal and outsourced efforts.

  • Lead test hardware integration, including mechanical design, to provide systems of excellent repeatability and reproducibility. Drive vigorous validation for production stability.

  • Realize and implement continual improvements for test time reduction, test coverage, manufacturing flow, DFT/DFM and production quality control.

  • Architect and manage data backend flow to a centralized Yield Management System

  • Ensure complete documentation for test systems and software in a centralized document control system.

Bachelor or Master of Science degrees in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Computer Science. Formal certification in test software architecture strongly desired.

  • Specialty in one or more of the following fields: control automation, optical component characterization, optical module/laser testing, and/or microwave engineering.

  • 8 - 10 years experience as a test engineer plus 2 - 4 years as a manager with a proven track record of leading successful teams in new product engineering and volume production in the semiconductor and/or optical communication industry

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading optical component test: both on-wafer test and edge coupled characterization of Sipho PLC's. Direct involvement in optical-electrical wafer probe hardware and fiber array design.

  • Previous experience with MMIC test, specifically broadband microwave (DC to 100GHz) linear/limiting TIA and drivers, testing both in frequency and time domain. Hands-on involvement in the wafer probe hardware, PCB and high-speed socket design process.

  • Experience with chip-to-chip and equipment communication protocols (I2C, SPI, GPIB, RS-232 etc.), calibration & trim (ADC/DAC, AGC etc.), and e-fuse.

  • Hands-on experience with PXI test platforms, network analyzers, s-parameter measurements, swept wavelength sources and optical coupling is strongly desired.

  • Excellent programming skills demonstrated in deployments of automated test systems to production environments in at least one of the following languages: CVI, Labview, Python, C/C#, or VB.NET. Familiarity with implementing a revision control system is required. Former architect-level experience of creating a test executive is desired.

  • Good knowledge of PCB and mechanical design for production, characterization and reliability test systems. Experience with commercial CAD software a plus.

  • Wafer sort development experience with both engineering and production probers a plus

  • Strong familiarity with commercial Yield Management Tools and deploying test software and utilities to control manufacturing execution and quality

  • Proven track record of team mentorship for high performance
