Job Overview:

Covance Market Access Services currently provides health care reimbursement support, access education, and access solutions for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical clients with its Market Access Field Team. The Field Reimbursement Manager are client-facing and customer-facing staff who leverage their expertise and experience to assist client customers in understanding and addressing access challenges. They conduct presentations to small and large groups in various settings and often work face to face with providers' office staff -- educating staff on access services and solutions specific to diagnostics or assays, and consulting on reimbursement matters. These services play an important role in clients' customer relationships as they facilitate access to patient diagnostics.

Covance offers the services of the Market Access Field Team in order to help our clients improve access in the dynamic health care environment. The Field Reimbursement Manager must regularly monitor the changes to nationwide and regional coverage and policy, as they serve as the experts in this area. The Field Reimbursement Manager will primarily work remotely out of their home office, but some national travel is required for the position. Necessary technology is provided in order to perform the duties required. Field Market Access staff must live in close proximity to a major airport.

  • Respond to client requests for site visits, work with client field staff to understand account needs and site visit objectives, and work with clients and other contacts to schedule meetings as needed.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with clients and client customers.
  • Develop presentations for site visits, trainings, client presentations, and other meetings as appropriate.

  • Develop content in keeping with client requests and needs. Conduct research using hotline data, team resources, and other sources, including primary or secondary sources, as needed, to develop content for presentations and prepare for presentations.
  • Deliver presentations to clients and client customers on site visits, via audio conferences, and by other means. Prepare for presentations, present materials, answer questions, identify issues for further follow-up, and conduct follow up as needed with accounts or clients.

  • Participate in client meetings as appropriate. Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings and calls.

  • Develop and conduct product specific trainings for staff including new hires, refresher trainings, ongoing project and technical trainings. Identify program trends and opportunities for intervention with payers, and provide recommendations to client management.

  • Prepare and/or review client reports.

  • Conduct research for, and provide technical assistance pertaining to consulting engagements and ITC programs.

  • Manage travel schedule and travel arrangements.

  • Prepare and submit appropriate expense reports in a timely fashion.

Education/Qualifications:

The Field Reimbursement Manager will hold a Bachelors degree or evidence of continual work toward a degree strongly preferred. A degree may be required to work on some of our client programs and needs. Candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, client savvy, knowledge of business protocol, time management and organizational skills. Proven leadership ability. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to "think on his/her feet" and suggest alternatives and solutions. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated analytical skills. Ability to work independently.

Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record and be available to drive during the day and nighttime. Must live within a reasonable driving distance from a major airport

Experience:

The Field Reimbursement Manager will have at least 3 years' relevant experience strong knowledge of diagnostic testing and assay reimbursement. The FRM will have extensive experience in healthcare reimbursement, market access, diagnostic or assay sales or marketing, or similar industry. Experience with research and analysis, relationship-building (with clients and/or customers), and public speaking. Possesses relevant work experience to conduct site visits, audio conferences, and give presentations.
