Project Description:


The Fall 2022 Operations Intern will assist the Operations Coordinator with several operational management projects, covering from vendor management to project tools and process implementation.


The internship will require 20-25 hours per week commitment with an anticipated Start Date of September 19th, 2022, and possible End Date: December 16th, 2022; a $195 monthly stipend for 3 months will be provided.


Interns may be required to work partly remote and partly in-person for their Fall 2022 internship. Further information will be communicated with hired interns regarding a one day in-person orientation, as well as making remote working arrangements with their supervisor.

The preferred location for internship candidates is the DMV area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia).

This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students looking to obtain valuable experience in the not-for-profit space, and the inner workings on an international nonprofit grassroots women's development organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:


The list below indicates the types of Operations projects on which the intern might work-

  • Support the reporting and analysis of ongoing operational projects
  • Support the roll-out of new initiatives, tools, and processes to operations staff
  • Assist in quality control of information management and record keeping
  • Support updating and editing policy management
  • Support scheduling for project management meetings and training
  • Perform vendor management and inventory control
  • Maintain WfWI Intranet site


Qualifications and Skills

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in business management or a related field
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with data management, operational metric formation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Ability to work interdependently and participate in inclusive collaboration
