Position Responsibilities:
The Director of Clinical Education’s primary responsibility is to administer student clinical activities on behalf of the CSP DPT program and in coordination with the program director, academic and clinical faculty. Activities to support this responsibility include:
• Developing, evaluating, and improving the clinical education component of the curriculum,
• Facilitating clinical learning environments which support the program’s mission, and
• Acting as liaison between the DPT program and the clinical education sites.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Earned post-professional master's degree in physical therapy, education, clinical specialty, or other related fields of study
• Eligible for a physical therapy licensure in the state of Minnesota
• Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting clinical education
• Minimum of 3 years of physical therapy clinical teaching and/or clinical coordination experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist
• Active membership in a Christian church
• A commitment to Christian higher education; mission of the DPT program; mission of Concordia University, St. Paul; and the Lutheran identity of this university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to articulate a vision for continued growth and development of the clinical education component of the DPT program
• Earned doctoral degree or willingness to pursue doctoral studies
• Experience establishing clinical affiliations
• Prior teaching experiences in a physical therapist academic program and/or administrative experience in clinical practice
• Strong team building skills and the ability to work effectively and collegially with others
