Role: Accounting Internship

Location: Manchester, MI

About the Opportunity:

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a full-time summer intern that will commence in May 2023 and will give the selected student a challenging project-based work experience, the opportunity to learn about the Amcor Rigid Packaging business, the packaging industry, and receive mentorship from business leaders.

Internship Assignments:

  • This internship offers a broad financial experience within Amcor's Accounting Group. The selected intern will gain experience in the following areas:
    • Learn the month, quarter and year end accounting and reporting requirements
    • Gain an understanding of general accounting that includes basic accounting, intercompany activity, foreign currency translations, account reconciliations and basic reporting
    • Learn how to navigate various accounting systems (SAP, BPC, Blackline, etc.) including running basic queries and reports that further develop analytical & research skills
    • Introduction to internal controls and SOX requirements
  • Accounting projects may include the following:
    • Develop and/or enhance existing tools and templates
    • Analyze an accounting process and recommend/implement changes
    • Financial modelling of cost savings, process mapping, and other activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Business or a related area
  • 3.2 GPA or higher, cumulatively
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship now or in the future
