Job Description

Location: Falconer, NY

Summary:

The ETO project manager position is located in Falconer, NY within the SKF Aeroengine North America division, primarily supporting the aerospace rolling element bearing product line. The project manager will be a member of a global team of project managers delivering new customer projects from all aerospace manufacturing units.

The ETO project manager works with the larger SKF Aerospace team to bring game-changing products to the aerospace industry's most demanding applications - for customers like Boeing, Airbus, General Electric, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls-Royce, Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin (Sikorsky), Safran, and Leonardo.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Engineer-to-order (ETO) is SKF's project management business process for introducing strategic new products to our customers.
  • The ETO project manager is responsible for proactively managing all aspects of new aerospace customer projects through the ETO process to deliver the project on-cost, on-schedule, and with quality to our customers.
  • The project manager leads multi-disciplinary teams consisting of sales, engineering, testing, manufacturing, supply chain and supplier management.
  • Daily activities include project schedule and deliverable management, risk management, and effective communication to drive achievement of project goals and objectives.
  • Key interfaces are with project teams, sponsors, and steering groups, as well as with customers.
  • The project manager is the local process expert on ETO and is responsible for deployment and continuous improvement of the process at the manufacturing unit.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR/EAR Compliant).
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management or engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related discipline, or PMP or related professional certification.
  • Experience leading projects in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, MS Project & related software.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills.
  • Experience with rolling element bearing applications and/or manufacture.
  • Time management skills and experience with project schedule management.
  • Experience with project risk management.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP+).
  • Experience with product lifecycles in the aerospace industry.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
