The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs' corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm's distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm's relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm's evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm's social and sustainability agendas.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of COE teams including Brand Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Transformation, Content, and Media, as well marketing teams for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this function will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve.

The Brand Marketing group is responsible for managing the external facing brand of Goldman Sachs and creating content that explains our businesses, the work we do for clients, the impact we have on our communities, and our unique and collaborative culture. We create content and campaigns distributed across goldmansachs.com, social media, paid media, sponsored content hubs, and other platforms to key audiences of importance to the firm's reputation, commercial objectives, and recruiting goals. As such, our team also manages the firm's presence on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and the GS.com website. We manage marketing for firm recruitment efforts, philanthropy, sustainability, and key initiatives such as Launch With GS. As well, we lead masterbrand strategy and serve as internal marketing consultants to the different businesses across the firm.

Role Summary:

The Brand and Content Strategy Social Media Strategist will be a key member of the social media team within the Brand and Content Strategy group, supporting our executive social media practice.


The Social Media Strategist will help craft and execute digital playbooks for executives at Goldman Sachs across platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn with the goal of translating key messaging pillars, passion and personality into a cohesive social media strategy. The Social Media Strategist will manage content and editorial calendars for executives and ensure a clear and deliberate cadence of communication. This role requires the ability to see the big picture while also keeping a close eye on the details. This individual will liaise with multiple senior stakeholders globally and will manage communication flows among internal teams, external agencies, and social platform partners. Attention to detail and superior communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

    Assist with the conception, creation and execution of social media posts, including long-form articles for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram posts
  • Create content, such as capturing images and videos, and crafting copy utilizing relevant hashtags and handles to pair with the respective posts and platforms
  • Determine the appropriate moments to engage with the audience
  • Ability to confidently interact with senior leadership and provide timely feedback/advice

Content

  • Strategize on content pipelines and create, curate and maintain content calendars
  • Create, edit and manage content including photo, video and copy for executives
  • Support day-to-day social media efforts, including real-time social media requests from key internal stakeholders across the Executive Office and the firm as a whole
  • Fact-check, proofread and gain the needed approvals for real-time social media requests
  • Execute live video on social such as Instagram Live, Twitter Live and YouTube Live

Listening & Reporting

  • Utilize social listening tools, such as Sprinklr and Brandwatch to generate insights
  • Partner with our team, agencies and vendors to help translate social media data into actionable reports that lead to optimization

Required Qualifications

  • 4-6+ years of experience managing social media for brands or publishers that included high-level executive or talent social media management
  • Undergraduate degree in liberal arts or communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields
  • MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong editorial judgment, writing skills and attention to detail
  • Very savvy user of essential social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram)
  • Creative mindset, intellectually curious and interested in illuminating the firm's thinking in accessible, clever ways
  • Passion for and experience with managing social media presences and an interest in the latest digital trends
  • Proactive, team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using social media listening tools a plus
  • Proficient in social media publishing tools
  • Background in working with and managing agencies and social media community managers
  • Experience leading live video executions on social such as Facebook Live, Twitter Live and YouTube Live
  • Working understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other graphic design services and/or experience in video production is a plus
