Job Description

Product Development Manager, LM North America

Location: St. Louis, MO

Reports to:Manager Product Development Product Engineering LPD North America

Your Role:

  • The Product Development Manager is responsible fordevelopment of new products and evaluatingnew technologyas it applies to lubrication solutions.

  • North American (NAM) PD covers LM tools & equipment products as well as automatic lubrication systems.

  • The PD Manager reports to the Manager of Product Development and Product Engineering for NAMLPD.

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:

  • Ensuring that PD work is in line with LM overall priorities, securing both short-term and long-term goals.

  • Lead, manage and coach the engineers specificallyregardingtechnicalchallenges.

  • Collaborate with Product Management,Purchasing, and Manufacturing on the development of new products.

  • Manage, supervise, and plan all PD projects within LM NAM through the Product Development Process.

  • Setting short term goals for team members and follow up onprogress.

  • Translate customer requirements intoquantifiableengineering specifications.

  • Analyze and evaluate existing products and technology, both internal and competitive.

  • Ensuring that released products meet agreed design specifications and are compliant with applicable target standards and regulations (UL, ANSI,CE,SAE,etc).

  • Develop and evaluate designs and concepts using 6 Sigma tools.

  • Create the validation plan for new concepts and execute by coordinating with suppliers, test lab, and Application Engineering for field testing.

  • Develop productBOMcost structure for components, assembly, and associated tooling.

  • Coordinate and lead teams to evaluate product quality and safety using tools such as FMEAs and Risk Assessments.

  • Review product applications and existingIPto generatenew ideasthat can result in new products, patents, and be selected for furtherdevelopment.

Competences and Requirements:

  • Engineering degreerequired, Mechanical preferred.

  • 5 years or more developing hydraulic, pneumatic and/or battery powered tools from concept to production.

  • At least 2 years of experience leading a technical team.

  • Experience with injectionmolding, and general electronics.

  • Track recordof successful co-developed products with international suppliers

  • Familiar with Compliance such as UL and CE

  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Willingness to travel domestic and international (<5%)

  • Valid USA Drivers License for Travel Purposes.
