Job Summary

Our Quality Assurance Team is looking for an intern who will be responsible for supporting MRB activities to ensure the timely processing of non-conforming materials from Production and Service, assist in ensuring that KSI quality systems meet the overall objectives of KARL STORZ, ensure compliance to KSI quality systems to regulatory standards, and support all departments on quality system issues and questions.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for compliance of Control of Non-conforming materials activities and to KARL STORZ policies and procedures, reviewing individual MRR reports for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in encoding, maintaining, and filing of MRR records
  • Clean-up duplicate MRR's
  • Track down open MRR's to closure
  • Contact other KSI teams to obtain further information, relative to specifics of MRR
  • Contribute to and participate on the Material Review Board (MRB) and Failure Review Board (FRB), a multifunctional team, in ongoing product-related improvement
  • Analyze MRR's, its causes and implemented actions for trends
    • Create tables, graphs and analytics
    • Provide early warning of issues or unfavorable trending from production of newly released product for corrective action
    • Provide appropriate summary data to quality management
  • Monitor and report out MRR on-time metrics
  • Communicate appropriately with internal KSI personnel
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function
  • Maintain the KSI Quality System to comply with compliance requirements defined in the Quality Manual
  • Provide administrative/clerical/project assistance to Quality Assurance staff and others as directed by supervisor
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience

  • On-going education for bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Proven ability with Excel, Word Processing and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with SAP, is a plus
