QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s).This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served. Employee must have completed a clinical rotation and is within two semesters of completion of their surgical technologist program. Work requires approximately one to three months on the job experience necessary in order to acquire necessary familiarity with surgeons' preferences, be able to accurately identify large volumes of surgical instruments and supplies, and gain knowledge of unit policies and procedures. Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; and to communicate effectively with other patient care providers. Work requires analytical ability necessary to prioritize work load.
