As a Software Engineer intern, you will be part of the HERE Security team that works closely with research engineers and data scientists to develop cutting-edge software with a focus on continuous delivery. On this team, you will have opportunity to work with full stack development technologies and automation concepts. Projects may include:

• Identity & Access Management and virtual network control. Interns will develop methods for improving our understanding of the breadth of the issues and to inform potential improvements. Responsibilities include:
• Evaluate complex networks and application systems for vulnerable design factors
• Identify how security problems can be better solved by gathering data about the systems that exhibit the problems
• develop reporting that identifies and quantifies the security problems, particularly in Identity & Access Management, and virtual network management
• Crypto Services - project will include adding Token based authorization to our Signing Service Solution. Responsibilities include:
• Write and commit code to the team code repo, write unit and system tests
• Research different authentication mechanisms
• Preference for candidates who have worked in Go and Python
• Preference for candidates familiar with REST APIs
• Product Security - securing a wide variety of applications in a large portfolio. The candidate will perform exploratory analysis of Application Security data and subsequently write automation to establish communication with product teams around securing their applications. Responsibilities include:
• Utilize Splunk to parse security data streams to identify focused security efforts
• Write automation to drive security improvements in identified areas
• Participate in an Agile team using GitLab for a software development platform

Key Accountabilities:

• Continuously seek out best practices and develop skills.
• Work on multidisciplinary teams of data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and business subject-matter experts to deliver complex projects on time and within budgets.
• Work with mentor to translate ambiguous and complex business problems into project charters clearly identifying technical risks and project scope.
• Independently handle issues with minimal supervision, while working closely with mentor for more complex issues.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
• Knowledge of one or more of these high-level programming language: Python, C++, Java, and Scala
• Familiarity with cloud computing tools such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
• Proficient with Unix/Linux
• Right to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred:

• Education specifically aligned to Cyber Security
