The Opportunity
Central Engineering ASIC Design Services in Marvell develops chips for external customers in market segments such as next generation 5G carriers, cloud data centers, enterprise networking, and automotive. We are looking for an experienced design engineer who will design, synthesize, and time complex ASIC systems-on-chip (SOC) in leading technologies using industry-standard processes and tools.Configure complex IP and integrate into an effective subsystem
Design functional logic including chip level clock and reset controllers
Synthesize RTL to meet timing requirements and verify logical equivalency
Analyze, debug, and implement fixes for reported timing violations (setup, hold, slew, and capacitance)
Develop, review, and update specifications
Work effectively with a global team and have self-motivated drive to manage deliverables
Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 3-5 years of related professional experience.
Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 2-3 years of experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of advanced digital and VLSI design
Advanced knowledge and skill in RTL and behavioral coding using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog
Experience developing design implementation specifications and related documents
Great problem solving and critical thinking skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter, goal oriented, team player
Work effectively with global teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent programming skills in scripting languages (e.g., TCL, Python)
Experience using synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler
Experience with ARM microprocessor architectures and AMBA bus standards
Experience with industry standard interfaces such as DDR/LPDDR, PCIe, Ethernet, and USB
Skilled at running and analyzing industry standard design checks such as LINT, LEC, RDC, and CDC Experience writing timing assertions
Knowledge of STA tools such as Synopsys Primetime or Cadence Tempus
