As an Associate on the Stride Career Prep Student Advisory Council, you will be part of a nationwide team of student leaders from Career Prep programs, your school's Career Readiness Education leaders, and the Stride corporate marketing team. Associates have a passion for their career pathway and are excited to share their exploration and education experience with others. You will be able to share your insights and perspective with prospective students and families, local leaders, and industry professionals. Associates will have opportunities to try new things, get noticed, and be helpful contributors. This competitive position is for teens looking to get a head start on their resume by gaining some solid experience with a large public company that is a leader in its field.

Selected Associates will part of a paid internship from July 2021 through December 2021 and will be eligible to apply for a monetary award at the end of your tenure. Associates will get exposure to a corporate marketing department and executives, social media and marketing experience, and insight into real product development business processes. You will also get networking opportunities with colleges, company executives, and fellow interns across the country. The internship will result in a portfolio of work to feature on your resume or college application, as well as the development of leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

The Associate, Stride Career Prep Student Advisory Council will be a brand ambassador for your school's career readiness education program, sharing your experiences as you're exploring careers, taking career courses, preparing for certification exams, and participating in work-based learning. You will use your social media skills, with support from the Council's school and company contacts, to post your creative ideas and experiences on your social profiles, your school's profiles, and the Stride Career Prep national profiles. You will share your perspective with students and families, school leaders, and company executives through website content, webinars, and focus groups.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Participate in training session in July to learn about responsibilities, receive tools and information about how to execute the work;
  • Spend approximately 3 hours per week to develop website and social media content about the Career Prep experience, and work with school and Stride contacts to post it;
  • Develop a web page on the school website to feature the Stride Career Prep experience;
  • Participate in webinars, focus groups, and online community forums to share insights about the Stride Career Prep experience;
  • Participate in meetings with company executives to provide feedback on the Stride Career Prep program, and to learn about different careers at a large national corporation;
  • Own at least one active social media account (Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter) and willing to post content to personal social media accounts.
  • Willingness to host a new Youtube video series (two Student Advisors).

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Currently a sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in a Stride Career Prep program, AND
  • Parental consent to participate is required, AND
  • Student must have current work permit, if necessary per state law, AND
  • Ability to manage schoolwork first, as well as meet the weekly responsibilities of the Associate position

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to post to personal social media accounts
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Web proficiency
