We invite you to forge ahead with us.Position Summary:Under supervision, you will perform sampling and testing on a variety of construction materials both in the field and laboratory; maintain and record pertinent sample and test information and report test results to the Project Manager or Engineer. You may also spend time in the field providing observation of various construction operations and reviewing the work for general compliance with project plans and specifications.What You Will Do:Collects samples of soils and construction materials in the field and submit to the laboratory for analysisPerforms a variety of tests on construction materials including soils, aggregates, cementitious materials and asphalt using both field and laboratory equipmentRead construction documents to determine project details and specificationsNeatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets in a timely mannerRecords and reports test results using a variety of software programsCommunicates orally and in writing with engineers and staff members, agency representatives, contractors and business and property ownersPerforms maintenance/cleaning of equipment and calibration and performs adjustments as neededAdheres to construction site safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environmentComfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)Inspection of construction operationsWhat You Will Bring:Pursuing a two or four year degree from an accredited school related to civil engineering/constructionHave a positive can do attitudeDependable and trustworthyAbility to work extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather and site conditionsAvailable to travel to out of town project sitesAbility to work in team environment as well as independentlyGood communications both written and oral with project teamMust possess a valid drivers license and have a good driving recordAbility to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 poundsWho We Are: WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in engineering, community planning, environmental, and construction services.
