Job/Internship Description
What you will do

Performance Infrastructure Sales Enablement Team (SET) Intern will assist the Grant Administrative Leader in researching new funding and rebate programs with federal, state, and local government agencies; utility companies; foundations; and other agencies. The SET Intern will project manage and write grant application packages with the assistance of multidisciplinary team member who are supporting Johnson Controls clients. The Intern will develop collateral (sales slicks, PowerPoint decks, etc.) to market the funding opportunities to specific customers. In addition, the Intern will aid other members of SET with one-on-one specific marketing and proposal team customer needs such as graphic design work, marketing data collection, resume writing, and other projects related to unique sales support efforts.

How you will do it

  • Research and coordinate grantee application and addendum documents and distribute to appropriate parties.
  • Assist in inputting and management of the grant database or archrival tool to track historical information of pursued grant documents and grant related boilerplate materials.
  • Identify, communicate, and customize grant application activities completion for internal Johnson Controls co-workers to meet external client needs.
  • Work with subject matter experts to write grant justification documents.
  • Edit and format grant application documents.
  • Communicate to internal sales teams granting agency compliance guidelines, procedures, reporting requirements, and budgets requirements during the submission process and award period.
  • Promote and market specific grant programs and/or grant wins by developing communication pieces and collateral such as writing content for online sources, creating sales slicks or PowerPoint presentation decks, etc.
  • Assist the SET with proposal support such as graphic design creation, resume development, and other activities related to managing and completing proposals in response to customer solicitations.
  • Complete special department projects related to tracking metrics, assisting sales teams and supporting efforts related to the Performance Infrastructure department.
  • Any and all other related duties as assigned.


What we look for

Required
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursing a higher education degree in Library Science, Communication, Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Educational or field experience in Marketing, Communications, Grant Services, Community Relations or related field.
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess excellent oral and written skills.
  • High degree of personal integrity and impeccable ethics.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
