Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, an S&P 500 company, is currently seeking a Integrated Accounting Services (IAS), Associate Director in various locations. This individual will accomplish the following:
Provide guidance in line with the designed processes and manage escalations as needed
Manage and oversee Integrated Accounting Services Accounting team, including a full range of recruitment and performance evaluation activities, schedules work, and preparing training plans
Manage the timely and accurate completion of period end closings for all Integrated Accounting Services accounting departments, in compliance with Corporate policies and deadlines
Manage the timely preparation and review of quarterly SEC schedules and other financial schedules or analyses completed by the accounting departments
Complete complex analyses, and review and refine financial statements and variance explanations prepared by accountants with additional business context behind the transactions prior to distribution to customers
Support Controllership and IAS Lead in efforts to implement new policies and procedures, and assist with the development and implementation of local accounting policies and internal controls
Provide oversight for all internal and external audit activities, directing appropriate departments for supporting documentation when necessary
Take a business partner approach with all stakeholders and forge strong relationships within the organization
Provide feedback to onshore and offshore accountants, gather feedback and requests from Segment / BU / Corporate Controllership, and promote continuous development within the accounting team
Prioritize and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the general accounting function
Education/Qualifications:
Minimum - Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent number of years of experience
Preferred - CPA and advanced accounting degree
Experience:
15 + years of business experience within Accounting with increasing responsibility
10+ years of supervisory experience
Professional certification (CPA) and advanced Accounting degree preferred
Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate direct and indirect reports
Adhere to a pro-active approach, with the ability to problem solve, and interact professionally with internal and external clients in order to meet everyone's needs in an effective and timely manner
Demonstrate ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
Proficient in Excel and Word (intermediate level)
Previous experience with ERP system (PeopleSoft preferred)
Problem solving skills
Experience working with a global team
Thorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAP principles and internal control environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with large amounts of data
